Personalised Gifts

is an ongoing artistic project on the often-overlooked narratives of labor and exploitation within the production of everyday objects. The series comprises unstaged photographs showcasing the individuals responsible for crafting these items in their work environments. These images taken in various workplaces, capture the essence of the workers' lives, telling stories that are hidden behind the mass production of commodities.

In today's context, ideas outweigh execution. Fabricators often go unrecognized in the production process, where diverse production avenues primarily involve capital exchange for realizing designers' visions. Fabricators act as intermediaries between ideas and physical objects. The piece/s provided by a printer shop, adorned with covertly captured images of the producers of the work, in their environments, mirrors the uncredited labor in production, highlighting the uncomfortable dynamic between design culture and labor.

The selected images are not staged; instead, they offer an authentic glimpse into the daily lives of those who contribute to the creation of commonplace objects. The photographs are then transferred onto tangible items, primarily sold at print shops. This intentional choice of objects, like pillows and mugs, serves to bring the reality of labor exploitation into spaces where consumers least expect it.

The objects consider the disparities between the superfluous nature of gift objects and the labor that makes it possible.
