Goal Frames

Goal posts in a public park are used as framing devices. These photographs are then cropped around this frame to create uncontrolled compositions.

9 goal posts are repurposed as tools for creating compositions. Football is a spectator sport, while taking photos through the posts it was necessary to adopt the same actions as the players using these posts for their intended purpose. The actions that were reminiscent of play were running to goals across the park when they became more active, interaction, waiting for moments of action, spectating and "shooting".

The community participation that occurs in public spaces is such that a limited view of these spaces still provides intense activity. The strucutres which are usually used for play were observed to also be consistently gravitated towards by park goers for many other purposes. The action of gravitating towards man made structures when in an open field, the outer limits for running and walking.
